What is Naturopathy?

Naturopathy is a system of medicine practiced widely throughout the world.

A naturopath will thoroughly assess your health concerns and create a treatment plan with you, in a client-centered way that incorporates changes to your diet and lifestyle, as well as recommendations for herbal medicines, vitamins, minerals, or other nutrients that may restore health to the body.

Naturopathy seeks to address the root cause of the illness, while supporting relief of symptoms at the same time.

Naturopathy is considered complementary medicine. A naturopath can be one of your team of health providers, working integratively with your GP or other specialists.

The treatment suggestions are natural and designed to restore balance to the body. A naturopath may use a range of modalities dependent on training to develop an individualised treatment program. A naturopath will also refer you to other community health practitioners if relevant.

Naturopathy can assist with supporting your optimal lifestyle and support with:

  • Allergies and seasonal ills

  • Joint health - mobility, flexibility and comfort

  • Optimising cholesterol and heart health

  • Energy

  • Mental Health and mood balance

  • Digestive disturbances

  • Hormonal imbalances

  • Skin conditions

  • Chronic and autoimmune conditions

Naturopaths work largely in a preventative way assisting you to make small changes that make big differences.
